Dr. Brad Littlejohn
Dr. Brad Littlejohn is a Fellow in EPPC’s Evangelicals in Civic Life Program, where he helms a project for renewing an authentically Protestant contribution to American civic renewal. A scholar and writer in the fields of Christian ethics, historical theology, education, and conservative political thought, he earned his BA in Liberal Arts and his MA in Theology and Culture from New Saint Andrews College, followed by a PhD in Theological Ethics at the University of Edinburgh in 2013. Subsequently, he founded the Davenant Institute, an organization dedicated to retrieving and renewing the Protestant theological and ethical tradition, which he helmed as President until 2024. In 2019, he launched Davenant Hall, the Institute’s graduate program in theological education, where he has since taught as Professor of Christian History.
From 2015-18, he taught philosophy at Moody Bible Institute-Spokane, and from 2018-19 was the Visiting Assistant Professor of Political Theory at Patrick Henry College. He has also taught for Bethlehem College and Seminary and is an Affiliate Professor of Government at Regent University. From 2018-19 he served as the founding Headmaster of Loudoun Classical School from 2019-20. From 2019-2022, he also worked as a Senior Fellow of the Edmund Burke Foundation.
Dr. Littlejohn is the author or editor of nineteen books, including The Peril and Promise of Christian Liberty (2017), Why Do Protestants Convert?, and the forthcoming Called to Freedom: Retrieving Christian Liberty in an Age of License. He is a weekly columnist at WORLD Opinions, and has published widely in both secular journals and Christian publications, including First Things, National Affairs, American Affairs, The Gospel Coalition, 9Marks Journal, Ad Fontes, Mere Orthodoxy, The American Conservative, Plough, and more.
