Cathy Bates

Cathy Bates serves as the Director of Entrepreneurial Studies and Professor of Entrepreneurship at Christ College, where she is grateful for the opportunity to invest in the next generation of leaders. With a background in marketing and accounting, she founded Practical Solutions in 2003, providing professional organizing and senior move management services. After many years of serving clients and their families, she transitioned out of that business in 2025 and now leads Legacy Transitions, where she continues to walk alongside seniors through placement, move management, and real estate services.

Cathy is passionate about helping others use their gifts faithfully, both in business and in life, and seeks to encourage students to pursue work that honors the Lord and serves others well. She and her husband, Todd, are parents of three adult children and grandparents to one grandchild.
