Dr. Tyler Bauer

Dr. Tyler Bauer serves as the Dean of Students and as Professor of Humanities at Christ College. Tyler has been teaching in Christian education since 2012, and he has a passion for helping students think deeply about the things of God.
Before coming to Christ College, Dr. Bauer served as a band director in the Tampa Bay area, a humanities and ethics professor at Southwestern Seminary, and as a humanities teacher at a classical school in Fort Worth, Texas. In addition to Christ College, Dr. Bauer currently teaches courses part-time for Palm Beach Atlantic University and Pietas Classical Christian.
Tyler's research interests include philosophy of mind, philosophical theology, philosophy of science, political theology, the intersection between classical Protestant and contemporary metaphysics, systematic theology, intelligent design arguments, and Christian apologetics.
In addition to his academic work, Dr. Bauer is an avid trombone and guitar player, he loves board sports (especially surfing!), and is a committed fan of both Tampa Bay and North Texas sports teams. You can find him talking all things nerdy on his substack, The Classical Thinkery or on the God and Other Small Stuff and Classical Mind for the Classical Life Podcasts. He is married to his wonderful wife, Jennifer, and has one son, Nelson.
